LyraVet for DaySmart — Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

LyraVet for DaySmart (the "Extension") is a Chrome extension by Vetreum Technologies, LLC that provides an AI medical scribe alongside the DaySmart Vet practice management system. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how. It supplements our general Privacy Policy.

1. Single Purpose

The Extension has one purpose: helping veterinary professionals record patient visits, generate SOAP notes and client discharge summaries, and insert those notes back into DaySmart Vet. It does not track browsing, serve ads, or collect data unrelated to this purpose.

2. Data the Extension Handles

  • Account Information: Your LyraVet login credentials, authenticated through Firebase Authentication. Your session is stored locally in your browser so you stay signed in.
  • Audio Recordings: When you explicitly start a recording, the Extension captures audio from your microphone to transcribe the visit and generate clinical notes. Recording never starts without your action, and you can revoke microphone access at any time in Chrome settings.
  • Patient and Schedule Information: When you use import or insert features, the Extension reads patient details and schedule information from the DaySmart Vet page you have open. It only runs on DaySmart Vet domains and only acts when you initiate an action.
  • Generated Notes: SOAP notes, discharge summaries, and related content created for you within your clinic's LyraVet workspace.

3. How Data Is Used and Where It Goes

Data is used solely to provide the scribe functionality described above:

  • Audio and visit context are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) to LyraVet's backend services hosted on Google Cloud, where notes are generated.
  • Notes, patient records, and recordings are stored in your clinic's LyraVet workspace using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), accessible only to authenticated members of your clinic.
  • Notes are written back into DaySmart Vet only when you click insert or copy.

We do not sell or rent your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to third parties except the service providers (Google Cloud / Firebase) that host LyraVet's infrastructure, or where required by law.

4. Permissions the Extension Requests

  • Access to DaySmart Vet pages: to read patient and schedule details you choose to import and to insert finished notes.
  • Access to LyraVet backend services: to generate and sync notes for your clinic.
  • Side panel and storage: to display the LyraVet workspace next to DaySmart and remember your preferences and session.
  • Microphone: requested by the browser only when you start a recording.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Notes and recordings are retained in your clinic's LyraVet workspace so your team can access them. You may request deletion of your personal information or your clinic's data by contacting us; we will honor requests subject to legal and record-keeping requirements applicable to veterinary medical records.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with industry-standard security controls. Access to clinic data requires authentication and is limited to your clinic's authorized users.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
